The Horse Tamer Black Stallion Walter Farley Books
This book is part of a series, but like all of Mr. Farley's books can be read as a stand alone. This book is not about the Black Stallion or Alex. It is about Henry when he was a kid and tells how he became interested in horses. It is before cars and planes and when the streets were full of horses.

The Horse Tamer Black Stallion Walter Farley Books Reviews
Very nice with easy reading that the entire family can enjoy. Would recommend for any age to read especially if you have younger family that would enjoy this great true to life story.
This is a great addition to a series so great that I have been reading it from the first book and am planning to read until the final book. This was a great story about Henry's brother and how he was a great horse tamer! I can't wait to read the next book!
Really awesome story, loved it when I was young, now it will join my library where my kids can now enjoy them )
Great Book!!!
Great!
I know I didn't expect this kind of story. My daughter and I had just finished the Walter Farley Black Stallion stories, saving this book as a good-bye to the series. We knew it had to do with Henry, how much we didn't know. Anyway, we start reading it and find Henry spending a summer with a horse taming older brother (Bill). Good so far, then it transpires into a good/evil thing between Bill and this other gentleman (Finn) Bill had worked with. I found the storyline annoying, over the top to read. Maybe it's just me. But the book lacked the usual Magic of the series.
Starting when I was a preteen and throughout my life, I've read all of the Black Stallion and Island Stallion books multiple times, most recently aloud to my grandchildren on . As always, Farley wrote with accuracy and skill within the school age vocabulary appropriate for school children, but still entertaining for adults. Farley shows the relationships, both healthy and unhealthy, between men and horses in all of his books, but this book provides insight into the changing role of the horse in American society at the beginning of the industrial age. While there is no horse like the Black in this story, having Henry's early story strengthens my understanding of his role in the other Black Stallion books.
