Finding My Way The Beaumont Series Book 4 edition by Heidi McLaughlin Literature Fiction eBooks

I swear, this story just about broke me. Of course I've read the other books in the series and know how Liam and Josie reunite, but this is the story of how it all falls apart, before the reunion and honestly, I can totally believe it. I think at one time or another we have tried to live up to someone else's expectations and been pressured or put pressure on ourselves to fulfill those expectations. So Liam's journey actually broke my heart because he did try to show Josie that he was changing or his mind was changing and of course she was thinking of the things they had previously expressed and yet they were both so young, some things get lost in communication. What a journey and such a great series.

Finding My Way The Beaumont Series Book 4 edition by Heidi McLaughlin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I've been a huge fan of the Beaumont books from the moment I read Forever My Girl. The love story of Liam and Josie touched my heart and it is a book that I continue to reread again and again. When I found out that Heidi McLaughlin was writing a new book, a prequel to Forever My Girl, and from Liam's perspective, I was immediately intrigued. I'd always wanted to know about Liam's rise to fame and with Finding My Way, I got it.

I don't think it is possible to write my thoughts about Finding My Way without referring to Forever My Girl - the stories are entwined and I'll make references to both throughout this review.

I read a lot of young adult books and that is probably the reason why Forever My Girl flashback scenes were some of my favorite parts of that book. I loved reading about the young Liam and Josie. In Finding My Way, Heidi outdoes herself and adds depth by giving us those moments again and what led up to them and what happens after. It isn't a repetition of something that we've already read. New meaning is given to those moments and we get to see how complex Liam and Josie's relationship really is.

What I love most about Finding My Way is how Heidi has given us a vulnerable Liam. He is young and unsure. Heidi captures that doubt of adolescence, of Liam becoming an adult and making decisions and choosing a path that he wants to pursue. He doesn't always know if the decisions he makes are the right ones, but he has to take a chance to find out.

I loved reading about Liam in L.A. and seeing him navigating his way through the music scene. During this time, we are also introduced to Harrison and I found myself smiling as I read the scenes he was in because he was just exuded this coolness that is true to the Harrison I know in the other books of the series. I'm happy that Heidi gave us some of Liam's rock star, "panty-dropping" persona. We got to see glimpses of it in Forever My Girl, but I liked reading the bad-boy side of him. I knew Jimmy wasn't the only one getting with the ladies.

Heidi answered a lot of the questions I had while reading Forever My Girl with Finding My Way and answered questions I didn't even realize I had. Finding My Way brings the story full circle and made me fall in love with Liam all over again. He's still the same Liam that I fell in love with in Forever My Girl - I just know him a little better now.

There are very few adult series that I continue to read as the series progresses whether is it because I get bored with the characters or the storyline, or you know, so many books, so little time. But as I've said before, these are characters that I don't want to let go of. I love reading about the characters of Beaumont and the stories that Heidi likes to tell. As long as she keeps writing, I'll keep reading.

Finding My Way is an amazing addition to the Beaumont series. A must-read. I loved it!!!
Finally! It felt as if we were never going to get Liam's story, or at least it felt that way. I squealed when I saw that Finding My Way had been delivered! Heidi McLaughlin had me fall in love with Liam in Forever My Girl. We saw his life as he tried to get the love of his life back. But now we get the chance to see his high school years and his life as he became Liam Page, the famous rock star. Heidi McLaughlin's way of writing has always had a way of captivating me. Her way with details pulls me into Liam's mind and makes me feel as if I'm the one going through all of his troubles.

If you've read Forever My Girl, then you'll know a bit about his past. But now we get the REAL story behind the famous Liam Page. Wow! Poor Liam... he has so much pressure put on his shoulders. Dealing with an unloving father, an uninvolved mother, the only person that seems to be there for him is Josie. She's his rock. Football and Josie, those are the main focuses on Liam Westbury's life. But as his high school graduation and more importantly college gets closer, his stress levels go up more and he begins to feel helpless and as if his life isn't going as he had planned and envisioned. His only real 'me' time is when he is alone and able to freely play his guitar.

As we keep reading the book we keep seeing his stress levels going higher and higher. Liam feels hopeless and as if he's slowly losing his mind, and more importantly, himself. My heart completely broke when I read how Liam and Josie broke up, or how Liam broke up with her. Knowing how much he felt broken after doing so. After this breakup we see the story of how Liam Page came to be. One of my all time favorite scenes in the whole book was seeing Liam and Harrison's friendship form, and more importantly seeing when Quinn came into their lives. We also, finally, get the whole story behind Sam, and why she is that crazy woman we met in Forever My Girl. Even though Liam is now this world famous star, he is not completely happy. His 'Jojo' is always there in the back of his mind and in his heart...

I devoured this book. It hooked me in and kept me wanting to read more and more of Liam's story. Once again Heidi McLaughlin has given us an emotion filled book. Every single one of her books that I've read has captivated me and made me fall in love with her characters and this one is no exception. I fell EVEN MORE in love with Liam, if that was even possible. Seeing everything that he went through made me want to give him a huge hug. The Beaumont Series is definitely a MUST READ!!!
Once again, Heidi doesn’t disappoint! I loved this book and so appreciated reading it from Liam’s perspective. It gave such insight on the struggles & pressure Liam had on him by so many people that he loved. Liam is a pleaser, and couldn’t figure out how to do what made him happy without hurting the ones he loved. I still don’t like Sam, but now have a better understanding of what led her to be so unstable. I wish this was book one of the series because it helped explain more of why Liam did what he did to Josie, Mason & Katelyn. I can’t wait to begin book 5!
