Has a slow start but it's just getting interested )
My mom loved it, I got it for her for christmas, it is a little pricey because it comes from England.
It was OK.
It's a book that would stay with you for a long time. I'm still emotionally drained. Although it got a little boring at times with all the details it was worth the reading.
First I would like to say that I like this book, but I would give it a 3.5/5 if I could.

"Hurt" by Tabitha Suzuma has a nice premise going for it, and is admirable for tackling a subject I yet to see other books tackle...But it doesn't automatically win gold for that.

Like many others have said this book is incredibly wordy. I understand description is important and it is done well, but it takes up entire pages to describe the setting of things...This may frustrate people, I was certainly frustrated indeed. But in a caring way where Matteo was really hurt and felt he really should have told the police.

At the very end I was in shock and understood why our main character kept his secret incredibly hidden to protect others...HOWEVER...It could have been foreshadowed better. What happened to Matteo did sort of feel like a last minute idea.

The only thing that was foreshadowed was the tragic climax and consequences which may have shocked me to the point where I needed to hug my boyfriend tightly and cry...But when I thought about it again the next day I felt the story didn't have to end as sadly as it did...I guess the writer was trying to be realistic and blah blah blah, but it came out of nowhere...Even something depressing can feel unrealistic. And speaking of depressing, that brutally honest message at the end felt weak.

Ok, I feel I was being to harsh...If anything I do like the characters and romance between our two leads...The story just tends to drag on to the point of frustration and pull out surprises that just don't work.

Do not feel obligated to read this...Read only if interested and, I don't understand why the age group target is 12 and up...I would say this should be 17 and up since there are things in this book that can probably make people feel uncomfortable, this book is dark and doesn't mess around.

And, if you are interested in reading this I would suggest to rent it before you buy it because I spent $10 for a kindle copy and that's a bit steep.
